The Birth

every child born is a miracle.... a flesh and blood sculpture, uniquely formed.

Chapter 1
Man to Man

“It’s a sad-but-true fact that boys are not allowed to have anything real, or imaginary inside them. Hence the gargoylian facial contortions of men as they “make connections” and “network”. Send out an emotional depth-charge into the innermost part of a man’s being and the echoes in his throat as he tries to call up something tangible, will haunt you like a daytime T.V. Interior Design Challenge. We keep it all at surface level: It’s called our “feminine side” and quite frankly it’s so thin it’s transparent. You can punch it through like tracing paper. But there are interesting patterns on that paper ghoul suit, tracing all sorts of hidden sensitivities.”

Chapter 2
Beginning to End

“Oh, I am not only a nighthawk by definition: I can become anything I choose. Actually it’s the dreamer who usually gives me my identity for the evening’s entertainment. Occasionally, as in your case, the dreamer is so fully opened up, that I am able to choose my own guise. With such dreamers I simply let myself in and they add the final details upon my arrival; dressing me suitably for dinner, or undressing me for bed. Naturally, I prefer my nights to my days now. There is always an element of mutual surprise involved. The dreamer may select an unfamiliar voice for my character but then, I am the one who decides what to say.”

Chapter 3
Woman to Woman

“But once we are inside the net they select our mode of seeing for us. The trawlers agitate the waters all around us so that our vision is dense and cloudy. Nothing is clear except for the saline fear that pervades all attempts at free thought. Everyone knows that there are sharks out there, programmed to tear the limbs off revolutionaries; sensing their blood, whilst ignoring their pain.”
