ABOUT THE BOOK:

Following an accident at work - and inspired by the pregnancy and birth of her first child, the artist began condensing over a decade’s worth of ideas and plans for “The Birth” project into a book. This fictional work, informed by the artist’s personal experiences as a practising artist and lecturer in the Theory of Art, took a year to plot and two years to write.

The Book provides insights into the Artist’s divinely inspired role in society, underpinned by the innate impetus to create and to encourage creativity in all others

The Book examines the debate between Creation and Destruction within contemporary Western culture.

A woman artist finds her career reshaped when a wayward spirit, trapped in chains of Karma – and desperate to make amends – invades her dreams.

As the spirit attempts to shape her ideas via a series of lucid dreams, the woman feels strangely compelled to create a work of art which will counteract her mounting sense of terror at the violence in the world that all children are born into.

As the blueprint for her project becomes more rooted in reality, an adventurous plan emerges and she finds herself preparing to give birth in a gallery in the North of England.

Every child born is a miracle.... a flesh and blood sculpture, uniquely formed.

THE BOOK OF THE BIRTH- PART ONE
Features 4 exciting trilogies, with titles relating to certain mindsets. Within each trilogy are three chapters which present themselves as three voices (a man, a spirit, a woman) talking to you about their version of events as they unfold, channelling, exploring and synchronising the four dualistic mindsets which filter through as dynamic trilogies of awareness into the 12 chapters which complete Part One of The Book.

THE BOOK OF THE BIRTH- PART TWO
Once the final chapter of Part One has been released, everyone who is a part of this dynamic social network will be invited to take their imagination on a magic carpet ride and submit a chapter which may be selected as one of 12 new chapters, written entirely by the social network. Thus, the final 4 trilogies which will complete Part Two of The Book, will be born.
