All babies are divine creations, innocent of all involvement in the human-controlled world that has evolved before them. As men and women, our parental and custodial role is of paramount importance, both at home and within our global society.

I conceived of the idea for The Birth in 1994 whilst questioning my art practise and seeking to define my role as an artist in what has most definitely become “our world”. It became vital for me to find an idea from deep within my soul, that would resonate with people everywhere; an art piece that would strike all necessary chords so that harmonious tunes could begin to play throughout all societies. I began to ask myself, “What is the ultimate sculpture? What could unite us all as creative beings?”
Many things have happened to me since then. Yet the questions still yearn for answers and the concepts still resonate with so much creative potential. Besides, this is my destiny, to bring The Birth to you so that you may bring it to others and share your questions and contemplations. I offer you several interpretations on a theme and I look forward to your valuable contributions.
